Currently, the Youth Philanthropy Project has begun the second cycles of its 11^th year of grantmaking. The purpose of the Project is to encourage student volunteerism and promote philanthropy by engaging young people in grant decisions. Our youth committee now consists of about 30 area high school students who meet monthly to conduct site visits, review proposals outlining youth-driven projects, participate in service projects and promote community service among young people.
